Nearly 600 New Homes Coming to Desert Hot Springs

Multiple housing projects totaling nearly 600 units are being built in the city of Desert Hot Springs to meet the growing demand for housing. Desert Hot Springs is the fastest-growing city in the Coachella Valley. According to the US Census, the city grew by 25% in the past 10 years, more than any of the other Valley cities. There were around 575 housing units in multiple housing projects that were newly constructed or under consturction in the city as of February, including Vega at Skyborne, DHS 41, Mighty Buildings, Sunset Springs, Agua Dulce, Aventura Palms, and Rancho Descanso.

Desert Hot Springs’ current Regional Housing Needs Allocation is 3,873 units, which is calculated based on projected and present housing needs and the city’s plan to accommodate that number of units can be found it its 2021-2029 Housing Element, a state-mandated document regarding housing for local goverments.
