La Villetta at Avenue 58, a new proposed development, could be coming to south La Quinta. On June 13^th, the city’s Planning Commission approved plans as well as general plan and zoning amendments for higher density related to the project.

The next step in the approval process will be for the Beverly Hills-based Rodeo Credit Enterprises LLC, to clean up a few design elements and then the proposal will be presented to the City Council, although the date has not yet been determined.

La Villetta, located on two vacant parcels totaling 9 acres just southwest of the intersection of Avenue 58 and Monroe Street, is proposed for 80 single-family residences and is bordered by Piazza Serena to the north and is located just east of Andalusia Country Club. Plans for the development include a community clubhouse, shared pool and spa, bocce ball court, and park.
