A new planned affordable housing project consisting of 167 apartments and an early childhood education center could be coming to Desert Hot Springs. The six-building complex will be comprised of one, two, and three bedroom units and will have an early childhood education center, laundry facility, recreation area, pool, playground, and picnic area.

The project, dubbed Park Lane Homes, will be designed in a modern style with mid-century elements and the education center will be a 11,000 square foot building with five classrooms, restrooms, offices, lobby, and kitchen. The education center will serve as a daycare center for children living within the complex and in the surrounding communities.

If approved, the project is estimated to begin construction in February 2027 and to be completed by January 2030.
