Coral Mountain Desert Club has teamed up with a private surf park and has announced it will offer its residents access as an exclusive club amenity. In 2022, Coral Mountain submitted a proposal to the La Quinta City Council to include a surf wave basin within the development, and was subsequently denied. The project’s developer has since altered its plans to include hundreds of homes, an 18-hole golf course, a recreational lake, and up to 60,000 square feet of commercial space. 

Thermal Beach Club, located just 10 miles east in the unincorporated community of Thermal, gained approval from Riverside County supervisors in 2020 and is expected to begin construction in 2027.
