Eisenhower Health’s New $156M Cardiovascular Institute
February 28, 2023
In November of 2021, Eisenhower Health launched a $256 million capital campaign, of which $156 million will fund the creation of the new Eisenhower Cardiovascular Institute. The project will include the construction of a four-story, 80,000 sq. ft. outpatient cardiology ambulatory center, expansion of a cardiovascular pavilion, and the new Renker Wellness Center, which opened February 2023. So far, $113 million of the desired $156 million has been raised through donors according to president of the Eisenhower Health Foundation, Michael Landes.
Eisenhower Health leaders expect a 45% increase in heart failure over the coming five years in the Coachella Valley and the hospital’s current cardiovascular center has not been updated in 20 years. The cardiology ambulatory center is planned to be located near the middle of the Eisenhower Health campus. Eisenhower Health is currently in the permit approval process and if approved, plans to begin construction in Fall 2023. The inpatient pavilion is estimated to begin construction in 2025 or 2026, and the Renker Wellness Center has already been completed as of February 8th.
