A new 176-unit apartment complex will be coming soon to north Palm Desert. This complex, known as the Crossings at Palm Desert Apartments, will be available to low-income residents and will be located near the corner of Dick Kelly Drive and Gateway Drive, just east of Monterey Avenue in Palm Desert. The project is led by Blieu Companies and will reportedly cost $111.7 million.

Blieu Companies stated the project has been in the works since 2007, but that the economy and other issues caused delays. The developer intends to open the complex in December of 2025. The majority of the project will be available to residents who earn between 30-80% of the area’s median income. The remained of the complex will be reserved for those earning less than 30% of the area’s median income.

The Crossings at Palm Desert will include one, two, and three-bedroom apartments in a total of nine buildings. There will also be open space areas, pools, community gardens, and “tot lots.” The surrounding area near the project is also expecting considerable growth in the coming years with over 4,500 units in the approval and construction stages.
