Palm Desert’s city council has approved detailed plans and an environmental assessment for the development of 10.47 acres at the southwest corner of Gerald Ford Drive and Technology Drive, along with an amendment to the University Park Specific Plan to allow medical office uses.
The proposal was submitted by Desert Care Network and Tenet Healthcare and includes a 114,700 SF medical office park intended as a “one-stop shop” for a multitude of healthcare services. The plan includes two phases, with the first including the main three-story medical office building, parking lot, and access roads. The second phase would include an additional one-story 20,000 SF building and more parking.
Linda Evans, La Quinta mayor and chief strategy officer of community advocacy for Desert Care Network, stated there will be a mix of Desert Care Network as well as private physicians, laboratory services, an imaging center, pharmacy, and rehab facilities. The first phase is expected to take 18 to 24 months to complete.
