Disney’s first Storyliving Disney-branded development, Cotino, is located off of Bob Hope Drive between Frank Sinatra and Gerald Ford in Rancho Mirage. Home sales began this year, starting at over $1 million and up in to the mid-$2 millions. Grading for the initial phase of the project has been completed and Cotino officials expect that the first homes from builder Shea Homes should be completed somewhere between January and March 2025.
Last week, Rancho Mirage’s city council approved selling up to $50 million in bonds to pay for the development’s infrastructure, including streets, sewer and water lines, and more. Homeowners will eventually pay for the bonds via their taxes, based on the size of their home, with a total tax burden expected at less than 2% of the property’s assessed value. Cotino’s three homebuilders for the project are Shea Homes, Davidson Communities, and Woodbridge Pacific Group. Shea Homes has acquired 12 lots, while Woodbridge Pacific Group and Davidson Communities are expected to begin marketing this month.
